The Girl by the Bridge

Make it stand out

“The Girl by the Bridge” is out now on all streaming platforms.

This was inspired by my daily commute to Broadway. It’s an eerie song about the dark side of downtown, the side the city tries to hide. Whether it’s clearing out homeless encampments to build football stadiums, or shadow police removing people by force, anything but providing affordable housing.

Unlike alot of my other work, I wanted this song to be raw, stripped down to the basics. I had recently acquired a Tascam portastudio 424, and this song worked as the perfect vessel to explore this device. This July I had the pleasure of participating in the very first @byrdfinds analog recording contest. This song became my entry, along with a tape record of local Nashville punk band SHUTEYE. This was my first dive into tape recording and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
